This greeting card is a reproduction print of the original artwork. The original is created using the relief printmaking method of linocut printing. It comes with a brown paper envelope, inside a cello bag. The card is left blank for your own message.
'After the Bath' refers to the famous Victorian painting, of the same name, by Paul Reel. Of course, Jack Russells don't like baths, so his relief to be out and back sitting mesmerised, drying off by the fire, is palpable. To me, it depicts one of life's most simple pleasures - sitting illuminated by the orange-hot glow of the flames and staring wondrously into the fire. Clearly, dogs and humans share that simple pleasure!
I recently sent this card to King Charles' during his cancer treatments. He loves his Jack Russells and I received a lovely response from him.
